Before You Move
- Update your New Address:
- File a Change of Address with the US Postal Service
- Inform your Employer(s) (paychecks, tax forms, etc.)
- Inform banks/credit unions, student loans, credit cards, investments
- Inform insurance (health, dental, life, car, homeowners, etc.)
- Inform doctor, dentist, pediatrician, veterinarian, attorney, babysitter
- Update memberships and subscriptions (magazines, churches, retail clubs, etc.)
- Inform government agencies (DMV, IRS, voter registration, social security, dept. of veteran affairs).
- Update online services (Amazon, Netflix, etc)
- Set up all your Utilities and Services:
- Register your child/children for school (See Below)
- Make a Home Binder for Easy Access, which includes:
- Appliance Information (Serial Numbers, Dates of Purchase, etc.)
- Warranties
- Evacuation Plan
- Plat Map
- Trusted Vendors Names
- Insurance Information
- Contact information for municipal offices, service technicians, sitters, medical, etc.
